When it comes to protecting Mexican autoworkers’ jobs, Mexico’s economics minister frankly told the U.S. trade representative “you can accuse me” of pushing “the interests of my country.” It makes Americans wonder why American trade negotiators don’t push the interests of America.
The Obama administration is vigorously trying to wrap up the global trade deal known as TPP (TransPacific Partnership). Many are concerned that with its lack of negotiating skill, the Obama administration could very well cause an exodus of American auto jobs to Asia.
This author suggests that the American autoworker may very well want to thank NAFTA, Mexico, and Donald Trump for saving more of their jobs from being outsourced to Asia.
